Having raised her own three autistic children, Kelly's experiences shed light on the stark challenges faced by families. Frustrated with generalized and inadequate approaches, she decided to transform her insights into action, and thus, Autistic GEM was born.

Our Story

Autistic GEM began when its founder, Kelly Wiseman, recognized the significant gaps between the NDIS and its services. With deep ties to the world of autism both personally and as a mother, Kelly's experiences revealed the stark challenges faced by families in Australia. The services offered to Kelly weren't meeting the diverse needs of autistic kids, and she was determined to change that narrative.

Frustrated with general approaches and seeking a more nuanced and understanding touch, Kelly transformed her insights into action, giving birth to Autistic GEM. Her vision was to create bridges of understanding, acceptance, and support for the autistic community and their families.

Today, Autistic GEM is a haven for holistic, genuine, and tailored support for autistic families. Under Kelly's leadership, Autistic GEM has grown into a supportive community, where shared challenges lead to collective strength.

Kelly - Founder

Kelly is the heart of Autistic GEM, serving as the founder, owner, mother, support coordinator, mentor, friend, advocate, and autism specialist. With a multifaceted background in developmental education and a deep personal journey, she brings an empathetic and unique perspective to the organization.
Kelly's mission is to empower individuals and families, ensuring they feel valued, understood, and supported on their autism journey.
Sky - Disability Specialist

Sky is a seasoned disability expert with over 20 years of experience in early childhood and disability services. With a Bachelor's degree in Inclusive Education and Disability Studies, she understands the unique needs of individuals with disabilities.
Her multifaceted role encompasses close collaboration with Autistic Gem, management of support workers, and coordination of the accounts department. Passionate about inclusivity and a staunch advocate, Sky is dedicated to ensuring Autistic Gem thrives.
Carmen - Client Support

Carmen is a vital part of the team, playing various roles, from business administration to client support and NDIS navigation.
Carmen's experience spans mental health recovery coaching and experience within NDIS. She is passionate about guiding and developing systems and executive function skills which support women’s mental health in their daily lives. Carmen is a valuable asset to GEM, in helping our families thrive.
Colleen - Office Support Volunteer

Hello, I'm Colleen – the numbers enthusiast volunteering at GEM. From accounts to odd jobs, I'm here to assist in any way I can. With over 25 years in education and career advising, I bring a wealth of experience. Armed with degrees in Science and Teaching, along with a knack for numbers, I'm dedicated to GEM's values of holistic care.
Outside of work, I find joy in crafting, sewing quilts, and intricate embroidery. Family has my heart, with nearly 40 years of marriage, three children, and six delightful grandchildren. I'm here to make a positive impact at GEM, one number at a time.
